Learning and comprehending the fundamental math concepts in school is hard enough as it is, but just when a student has become confident in solving regular math problems, the teacher presents them with a word problem. Word problems are important because they teach students how to use their math skills in everyday life, but they can be very confusing. The wording can make it unclear exactly what is being asked and what operations need to be performed to find the answer. On top of that, many word problems contain multiple steps which must be solved in a certain order.

How We Help

Our Power Solver courses teach students how to approach, analyze, and solve different types of word problems. Our OCT-certified Learning Specialists teach students key words to look for, and how to convert the problem into basic math operations. Students are shown step-by-step how to complete common types of word problems and will develop an understanding of how to complete similar ones in the future. These courses increase student self-confidence and deepen their understanding of math concepts.
